Open systems design by means of BACnet

Enlarged BIG-EU joint booth at the 2009 Frankfurt ISH show

Dortmund, March 03, 2009. - Open building systems provide a multitude of technical and economical advantages. Themed "Be open - be BACnet", BACnet presents itself at the joint booth at the ISH Frankfurt, Germany, from March 10 to March 14. In hall 10.2, booth D60, 13 system providers present new BACnet conform products and efficient integration solutions.

The increasing number of exhibitors confirms the trend towards the BACnet standard. Represented at ISH for the first time two years ago, the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) announces a considerable exhibitor increase of 30% compared to 2007.

Represented are ABB Automation Products, ACELIA, D&S Steuerungssysteme Cologne, Danfoss, ELESTA building automation, I.T.E.N.O.S., Johnson Controls Systems & Service, the Novar sector TREND, Plüth Regelsysteme, Saia-Burgess Controls, Sauter-Cumulus, Siemens and Vacon.

The latest BACnet technology at a glance: the BACnet booth provides a wide variety of information. The manufacturers are represented by experienced BACnet experts. They will be demonstrating multivendor building management systems, BACnet building controllers, room control units, controllable drives for HVAC applications, and more. Certified BACnet devices are characterised by minimal life cycle costs, easy handling and cost efficient smart engineering.

BACnet, the world wide communication standard DIN EN ISO 16484-5, enables easy integration of an increasing number of assembly sections. Besides heating, air-conditioning and ventilation functions like energy management, remote control applications, security, access control and many more are embedded as well. Due to the interoperability complete, highly productive, multi manufacturer systems can be created. Building automation with BACnet is open for new functions and easy to expand.

The BIG-EU members are leading in the creation of open systems. From building control to field level the assembly sections are integrated with BACnet. That eases planning and bidding. KNX, LON and other protocols can be embedded as well: "Be open - be BACnet" and welcome to the BACnet booth at the ISH 2009!
