BACnet integrated in Chinese building automation
First BACnet Forum Beijing held on October 20th, 2009 BACnet Interest Group China launched by 15 members
Beijing, November 10th, 2009. BACnets powerful building automation integration and proven results in energy efficiency have led this technology to be a leading sustainable solution for the Chinese market. This was the common spirit at the first independent BACnet Forum in China. The forum was held in Beijing on October 20th, 2009. More than 170 BACnet users from China and all over the world discussed the technical, economic and ecologic potential. BACnet was specially engineered for the needs of integrated building automation. In 2003 it became ISO standard 16484-5 throughout the world.
H. Michael Newman, creator of BACnet and founder of the BACnet standardization committee, opened the BACnet Forum Beijing. The participants were welcomed by Huang Jiusong, Head of the Intelligent Building Development Centre of Science and Technology Committee of Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the Peoples Republic of China.
Global BACnet players involved
BACnet experts of world spanning companies introduced development and applications of the new technology. The forum program was shaped by ABB, Contemporary Controls, Delta Controls, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Kieback&Peter, Reliable Controls, Sauter, Siemens and Thermokon.
The Forum was hosted by the largest BACnet Interest Groups in the world BACnet International and BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU). As an incentive for the Chinese group BIG-EU Marketing President Hans Symanczik introduced the prosperous history and achievements in Europe.
New BACnet Interest Group China
At the forum the BACnet Interest Group China (BIG-CN) announced its foundation. 15 founding members have elected a board and an advisory board.
The target of the BACnet Forum Beijing was to introduce the advanced BACnet technology and products from the western industry to the Chinese market. An unforeseen large number of Chinese experts, technology operators, investors, consultants, developers, manufacturers, system integrators, specifiers, owners or users was present.
Since 2003, when the BACnet protocol became the ISO standard 16484-5 throughout the world, there has been an increased interest in this global language for building automation. The BACnet protocol provides a platform for the most sustainable building automation solutions at a technological, economical and ecological level, not only today but importantly for future years to come.
The next BACnet forum in China will be held in September 2010 in Shanghai.
About the BIG-CN
The BACnet Interest Group China (BIG-CN) promotes the application of the worldwide
BACnet communication protocol ISO 16484-5 in Chinese building automation.
It was founded by 15 companies in Beijing in 2009. The launch was announced
at the BACnet Forum Beijing on Oct 20th, 2009. The BIG-CN represents Chinese
interests in the worldwide development of the BACnet standard. It increases
BACnet knowledge in China with joined marketing and qualification actions.
It publishes the BACnet China Journal, conducts BACnet exhibitions and Forums
