BACnet - the standard for efficient buildings

Sustainable building automation par excellence at light+building - BIG-EU begins dialog with integration planners

Dortmund/Frankfurt, 8 March, 2010 - Planners and integrators for open BACnet systems are in demand. Rarely is a tender written without BACnet - the manufacture- independent standard is becoming a constant for efficient buildings. At light+building 22 members of the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) will show what qualified engineers, users and facility managers need to know. Energy management, comfort and security can be integrated efficiently using the open communication standard. This is sustainable building automation par excellence. To be seen in hall 9.0, at booth B60.

The technology-independent integration of building systems goes far beyond the control of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). BACnet meets new requirements such as energy management, wireless applications, security and access control. Exhibitors represented are: ABB Oy, ACELIA, BACnet International, Delta Controls, HERMOS, INGA GmbH, INH GmbH/ HHO-Automation, ITENOS, Johnson Controls, Kieback&Peter, MBS GmbH, Priva B.V., Saia Burgess, SAMSON, Sauter Cumulus, Siemens, SWG Stuckmann, TAC/Schneider Electric, Thermokon, VACON, Viconics and Wonderware.

BIG-EU president Volker Röhl has announced further measures to overcome the shortage of BACnet know-how: "At light+building we will start a new dialog with integration planners and users which will be intensified later this year." Leading in this area are the Deutsche Bahn, FRAPORT, STRABAG Property and Facility Services and the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Working Party of National, Regional and Local Authorities (AMEV).

BIG-EU members are leaders in the design of open systems. At light+building they will show how BACnet simplifies system integration and increases the value of buildings.
