ISH Frankfurt 2011
State organizations are increasingly relying on BACnet
Dortmund, 28 March, 2011. - Planning and tendering of BACnet projects
is to be sim-plified. This is how Bernhard Hall from the State and Local Governments
Machines and Electrical Working Group (AMEV) announced the revised BACnet
recommenda-tion at ISH 2011. It is based on the experience of operators. Examples
help reduce the application efforts for the ISO 16484-5 open communication
standard. An AMEV certi-fication will distinguish particularly high performance
BACnet products.
State organizations such as the Property and Construction of Baden-Württemberg
promote the increased use of vendor-independent standards in free competition
to equip buildings with smart technology. Volker Röhl, President of the
BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU), is pleased about the increasing number
of BACnet users: "Our largest ISH stand to date, with 21 devices and
over 1,000 data points, gives a good impression of the interaction of the
systems." Founded by 18 users in 1998, the BIG-EU has grown to more than
90 active spon-sors of the BACnet standard.
