BACnet successful in the Netherlands
Forum for efficient building automation on 6th December in Amsterdam
Dortmund/Amsterdam, November 2006. - representatives of the building, installation and real estate industries as well as the manufacturers of building automation and control engineering are to meet for the first independent BACnet user forum of the Netherlands on the 6th of December 2006 in Amsterdam. Owners, operators and planners will report on the increasing use of the BACnet standard. From the increasing number of Netherlands BACnet projects they present particularly economic examples and give tips regarding planning and bidding. BACnet is the only communication protocol for the automation and management level, which was taken up as ISO 16484-5 to the world standard for building automation. The forum with the title "BACnet in efficient building automation in the Netherlands" shows application practice today, and in addition, the future development of the standard. It introduces to utilisation, potential and economy of BACnet and provides the basis for decisions for the correct standard.
BACnet systems are programmed for the future. They function producer-independently, they integrate into existing network structures and can be integrated into the building management system from more than just the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. The standard systematically promotes the integration of all devices and benefits from the synergy effects of utilisation: Costs and energy conservation, security and flexibility. Thus standardisation and integration create an increase in value, which is convincing ever more investors.
Sponsors of the BACnet Forum are ABB, Celsius, Delta Controls, Digicontrol, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, KNX, Kieback&Peter, Priva, Regel Partners, Saia-Burgess, Sauter, Siemens and TRANE.
The BACnet potential in the Netherlands is increasing. Already today three Netherlands enterprises are members of BIG-EU. Further members are with subsidiary companies or local sales offices. Altogether the number of members of the BIG-EU in the last two years has risen from 40 to 65.
