This year, the BACnet Interest Group Europe once again participated in the AHR Expo 2026 in Las Vegas and in the accompanying SSPC 135 meetings.
Representing BIG-EU on site were:
Hans Symanczik, Christoph Zeller, Salvatore Cataldi, Alexandra Henczka and Patrice Hell.
The AHR Expo marked a significant milestone this year:
It was the official launch of the global celebrations for 30 Years of BACnet.
Together with our friends at BACnet International, we were proud to help open this anniversary year. The celebrations will now continue throughout the year at major European industry events.
However, BACnet is not only about celebrating milestones – it is above all about expertise, standardization and continuous development.
Our BACnet experts were, of course, not only there to celebrate but also to provide guidance, share knowledge and engage in technical discussions. The AHR Expo and the SSPC 135 meetings remain key platforms for knowledge exchange, standard maintenance and international cooperation.
The presence of our delegation highlights the strong and trusted collaboration between the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU), BACnet International, and the SSPC 135 committee. This partnership continues to be a driving force behind the evolution of the globally established BACnet standard.
Today, BACnet is a globally recognized communication standard for building automation.
BACnet started smart, became smarter with every development – and now stands for interoperability, openness, security and future-ready digital building infrastructure.
In line with our mission statement,
“Networking the BACnet standard in Europe,”
we will continue the anniversary activities across Europe – combining celebration with professional exchange, networking and in-depth knowledge sharing.
We look forward to an exciting anniversary year together with the international BACnet community.
